I rarely line my upper lashes, let alone with Blacktrack, so this was something different. Just felt that it was too plain and needed liner.
A little bit of Blackground…
Friday, January 29th, 2010I haven’t used my Blackground paint pot too much, so I brought it out today. MAC Stars N’ Rockets eyeshadow over it looks gorgeous! Usually on it’s own or over a neutral paint pot it’s a very pinky-purple color, but over Blackground the blue duochrome really comes out!

1 Minute Eyes
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010Today I was in a rush, and didn’t have time to go through my usual makeup routine of multi eyeshadows, foundation, etc. So here’s my “1 Minute Eyes” look I came up with!

Didn’t photograph too well, but it’s a simple and pretty pink-ish look. Just a bit of color to spice up an otherwise boring look! I was thinking how easy it’d be to take something like Contrast, and darken up the outer V, and transform the look, too.

Painterly applied as a base all over lid. Chrome Yellow applied on inner third of lid. One Off applied in middle of lid. Electric Eel applied to outer third and crease. Crystal Avalanche applied in crease, and under inner half of lower lashes. Cranberry used as a liner for upper and lower lashes. Zero applied to lower waterline.

Friday, January 22nd, 2010On another makeup free kick… UGH! I did wear some last week, but didn’t take pictures. I did another variety of my Hypnotizing with Mulch, a bit more smokier. Then just some neutral stuff.
I have no pictures for my look today (it just wasn’t that impressive), but I can give the rundown…

Not the biggest fan of 100 Strokes… always comes out a muddy black color. Definitely one of those things that look a lot better in the pan!
I have my eye on Lucky Green eyeshadow that just got re-released. It was funny… people had theirs for sale for $40, and then MAC went and released the eyeshadow again. Sucks to be them! 
Since it’s out permanently now I have time to think about if I want it.

Definitely like this look… not too blue! I think I’ll have to try mixing my blues with other shades to find stuff that’s wearable to me. All blue looks just rub me wrong.
On a side note, I’ve been at this blog for over a year now! Yay! And WOW, I’ve come a LONG way in application technique/blending/etc! It’s so nice to be able to look back and see improvement Which is exactly why I started this blog, because I wanted to document my looks and see improvement, and perhaps help a few others along the way

Bringing out Pure Ore!
Sunday, December 27th, 2009Wow, I feel like I’ve owned Pure Ore for ages! It’s been over 2 years since it was released, and I’ve used it maybe 5 times tops, usually as a liner 
I was browsing specktra.net’s “Shop Your Stash” thread for ideas, and came across a look using it so I had to give it a try!

I’m loving it!! It’s not too harsh of a look in real life (so my mom says, she often says my makeup is too dark ). Nice and sparkly and shiny. I’ve never used Pure Ore like this, so I’m glad I tried something new! Makes me wish I had the silver product from Metal-X, or hell, all of the colors!

Painterly applied as a base. Hypnotizing applied over whole lid, and inner half of lower lahses. Mulch applied in crease and outer V, and outer half of lower lashes. Naked Lunch applied above crease, and Retrospeck applied as a highlight. Grey Utility applied along upper lashes, and Zero applied on lower waterline.

Cakekshop applied all over lid and crease as a base. Warm Chill applied over lid. Satin Taupe applied in crease. Humid used to darken outer V. Vex applied as a highlight under brows. Zero applied to lower waterline.
This was my first time ever using a Shadestick. Cakeshop is pretty… it’s a sparkly beige with some green in it (at least I see some green). Gave an extra sparkle to the shadows I applied over it.
First Melon Look – Day Version
Friday, December 18th, 2009I’ve had Melon pigment since October sometime… just finally got around to using it! It applied as a very bright yellow gold on my lids, which kind of disappointed me since it’s a orange-y pink in the container. I won’t give up on it, though, still a nice product.
I might have two version to this look, day and night. This is the day version. I am going out with friends tonight so I’m going to freshen up my makeup and maybe make it a bit darker. So the night version will be posted in a few days when I’m back!

Painterly applied as a base. Melon foiled all lid with 239 brush and a few squirts of Fix+. Cranberry applied in crease and outer V with 217 brush. Carbon used to darken outer V, applied with 217 brush. Vanilla used to buff out upper crease, with 275 brush. Nanogold applied as highlight with 275 brush. Zero applied on lower waterline.
So that’s the “day version.” Hopefully I can create some sort of night version out of it

Painterly applied as base. Star Violet applied across whole lid with 239 brush. Humid applied in outer corner and crease with 239 and 222 brushes. Carbon used to darken crease and outer corner with 217 brush. Vanilla used to blend out crease with 272 brush. Creme Royale applied as a highlight under brow and inner corner of eyes. Star Violet applied under inner half of lower lashline with 219 brush. Humid applied under outer half of lower lashline with 219 brush. Zero applied on lower waterline, and Humid patted over.
Might as well do Christmas looks when I can, right?
Yesterday I did a look with MAC Henna eyeshadow all over my lid, MAC Bronze eyeshadow in the crease, and MAC Ricepaper Eyeshadow to highlight. I was iffy on it, and so I didn’t take any pictures.

A bright look! I took inspiration from specktra.net’s “Shop Your Stash Challenge” thread, and used some stuff from my stash that I haven’t used in a long time, or never!
Here’s what I came up with, and I love it! Bright, but not too over the top.

Painterly applied as a base. Cosmic applied all over lid with 239 brush. Lotusland land applied in inner crease with 217 brush. Satellite Dreams applied on outer crease and outer V of lid with 217 brush. Indian Ink used to darken outer crease and V with 217 brush. All the purples were blended, blended, blended! Indian Ink applied as liner along upper lashes with 209 brush. Nanogold applied as a highlight with 272 brush, topped off with Ricepaper using the same brush. Cosmic applied under lower lash line with 219 brush. Zero applied to lower waterline.

I forgot how wonderful Cosmic is… applying it is like heaven, it’s so smooth and blendable. This was my first time using Indian Ink, and it can take a bit of work to get it blended in, but I really like it as a matte dark purple for smoking out a look. I’ve heard complaints that it looks black on certain skin tones, so I was please to see it remained purple on me!
Random note… but I’ve been using my MAC Green Gel Cleanser for about a week and a half now! And it seems that my skin is fine with it! Some things cause me to break out, so I was hesitant about switching to this particular cleanser. Yeah yeah, most people hate MAC’s skincare items, but I like my stuff to be from the same people. Call me a dumb snob, or whatever… it’s just my thing. I love how the tiniest dab is enough to wash my whole face, so I foresee the bottle lasting for quite awhile.

Upper lashes lined with Contrast using 209 brush. Rite of Spring applied as a highlight with 272 brush. Zero used to line lower lash line.

It was my first time using the “dreaded” Trax shadow… and I didn’t mind it! Takes effort to blend it, but it’s not the nightmare that people on the forums make it out to be. I have worse shadows… and it’s a pretty color to boot!
Anyways, this was just my quick “back from the dead” post. Hopefully I will have my desktop up and running soon and will be able to get some pictures up and resume fairly normal operations!

A little interesting, eh? It was on my shadow combination list. Off The Page is gorgeous, I’m glad I picked it up when it was out.
