I wanted to do something with color for work (like I’ve said over and over… all neutrals every day gets me a bit down) so I decided to re-try an old look. I think it came out a lot better, but then again, all my looks from a year ago looked downright scary! I hadn’t started using products in my crease, and I’m not sure I even attempted to blend. Oh what a difference a year can make!!!

This time around I’m swatching the eyeshadows in my “Pink” MAC palette! These are the ones that I’ve decided are “full” pinks. I have a “Pink-ish Purples” palette that I put other ones in that, to me, are not a full pink or a full purple color. Does that make sense? Probably not, but most people have unique ways of organizing their palettes to their personal tastes.

Swatching procedure: My skin tone is roughly a MAC NW20 (maybe NW15 since any tan is fading). Swatches are done over MAC Painterly paint pot to provide a base, therefore results may appear different on bare skin.
Photos are taken in my bathroom of the shadows themselves under “Natural Light” bubs which mimic natural daylight. Swatch pictures were taken by a window with natural sunlight.
I got the idea for today’s look from a post on Specktra.net about what eyeshadow colors compliment each other: Slip Pink and Sushi Flower. It also suggested using Carbon, but I do not have that color (and try to avoid straight blacks, still kinda scare me!), so I substituted Well Plumed. Definitely a soft, pretty pink look.
This was also my first time applying makeup under my natural light bulbs I got for the bathroom last night. Definitely a great help! I always use to get out to the car, and see flaws, but now my makeup looks inside what it would outside.
