Bringing out the color…

Sundays are my day off, so I took the chance to do a look I wouldn’t otherwise do, especially for. Decided to give a blue look another chance. I’m STILL finding blues awkward :(

    • I love it! I think it might become my “routine” look for work, maybe with substitutes here and there for some of the colors. It’s quick and easy, and all of those shades easily blend together, so I don’t have to spend a lot of time blending out difficult finishes.

    In the pictures you can’t really tell I had blue on my eyes, but I swear it’s there! Deep Truth I guess just felt like photographing weird today :(

    Face

    • MAC Mineralize loose foundation in Medium
    • MAC Studio Touch Up Stick concealer in NW20
    • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Redhead

    Foundation applied with 209, MSF with 268. Concealer applied under eyes and smoothed out with 194 brush.

    Eyes

    • MAC Painterly paint pot

    • MAC Satin Taupe e/s
    • MAC Deep Truth e/s
    • MAC Shroom e/s
    • MAC Powerpoint eye pencil in Grey Utility
    • Make Up For Ever Lash Fibers

    Painterly applied as base with flat eyeshadow brush.  All That Glitters applied all over lid with 239 brush.  Satin Taupe applied to crease with 222 brush.  Deep Truth used to darken outer V and crease with 217 brush.  Shroom applied as a highlight, 272 brush.  Grey Utility applied to upper lash line and waterline.

    Welcome to my MAC makeup blog! I’ll be updating this with my daily looks, new purchases, etc!

    I have two looks from a few days ago that I am going to post, and then I’ll post a new entry for today’s look!

    Jan. 08, 2009 Look “Going to the pet food store!”

    Products (all are MAC unless noted):

    Eyes

    • Painterly paint pot as base (242 brush dupe from Sephora)
    • Moonflower e/s all over lid (139 brush)
    • Deep Truth e/s in outer V/crease, and a bit to line upper and lower lids (139 brush)
    • Ricepaper e/s in crease up to brow (272 brush)
    • Crystal Avalanche e/s lightly in crease, and a bit under brow (272 brush)
    • Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash mascara

    Lips

    • Elaborate lipglass

    No foundation/concealer/powder/etc.

    This look turned out better than I hoped, and my makeup artist at my local freestanding MAC store even complimented me! This made me so happy, as I am always scared to wear “serious” makeup to MAC, in fear the MUAs will make fun of me. Definitely a confidence booster! I did notice my right eye wasn’t as blended as the left, probably due to the crappy lighting in my bathroom (I switched to “natural” lightbulbs last night and LOVE it).

    • Redhead Mineralized Skinfinish (168 brush)

    • Painterly paint pot as base (242 brush dupe from Sephora)
    • Henna e/s all over lid, up a little past crease (139 brush)
    • 100 Strokes e/s in outer V, and along upper lash line (139 brush, and small slanted Sephora brush for lining)
    • Ricepaper e/s to blend and up to brow (272 brush)
    • Brow Set in clear
    • Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash mascara

    Lips

    • Carmex :)

    Time to play with my new products I got from the “Brunette, Blonde, and Redhead” collection, along with my new powder foundation that I got at MAC 01/08/09. I figured out Ricepaper mixed with 100 Strokes made some sort of gunmetal silver color. I honestly must admit I wasn’t too happy with 100 Strokes, but it just might be the other colors I was using it with. I’m sure I’ll make it work.
