Bringin’ out the Greens

Monday, March 8th, 2010

My life is going to be a whole lot more neutral looks, so today I did something bright. And I realized that all the main colors are MAC Pro shades, weird!

Face

  • MAC Mineralize loose foundation in Medium
  • MAC Studio Touch Up Stick Concealer in NW20
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Perfect Topping
  • Eyes

  • MAC Painterly Paint Pot
  • MAC Bright Sunshine Eyeshadow
  • MAC Bio-Green Eyeshadow
  • MAC Bottle Green Eyeshadow
  • MAC Shroom Eyeshadow
  • MAC Ricepaper Eyeshadow
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Graffiti
  • Make Up For Ever Lash Fibers
  • Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash Mascara
  • Painterly applied as a base. Bright Sunshine applied all over lid. Bio-Green applied in crease and outer V. Bottle Green used to darken the outer V. Shroom used to blend out the top of the crease, and Ricepaper applied as a highlight. Graffiti applied under lower lashes and on waterline.

Swatch of the Day: MAC “Bright Green” Eyeshadows

    Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

    Today’s swatches are…

What I categorize as my MAC “bright green” eyeshadows!

    MAC Swimming Eyeshadow
Description: A scintillating sea green (Lustre)
    swimming

    MAC Bio-Green Eyeshadow
Description: Bright yellow green with gold pearl (Frost, Pro)
    biogreen

    MAC Lime Eyeshadow
    Description: Lime green (Matte, Pro)
    lime

    MAC Bitter Eyeshadow
Description:Vivid bright golden green flecked with shimmer (Velvet)
    bitter

Swatching procedure: My skin tone is roughly a MAC NW20. Swatches are done over MAC Painterly paint pot to provide a base, therefore results may appear different on bare skin.

Photos are taken in my bathroom of the shadows themselves under “Natural Light” bubs which mimic natural daylight. Swatch pictures were taken by a window with natural sunlight.

Green look for the last day of school! I really like Plumage… hell, I love all of my greens.

I also went to the CCO yesterday (this look is from yesterday as well) and picked up Hello Kitty Tahitian Sand beauty powder, Chill e/s, and Glamour Check! e/s. Didn’t get very much… I couldn’t resist the compact of the beauty powder, though. I can’t wait for more HK stuff to hit the CCO.

First it was steamy, now it’s humid in here!

Here’s today’s look, an old favorite of mine that I like to do :)

Products (all MAC unless otherwise noted):

    Eyes

    • Painterly paint pot as base
    • Bitter e/s in inner corner/third of eyelid (139 brush)
    • Swimming e/s in middle of eyelid (139 brush)
    • Humid e/s in outer V, blended into crease, as as upper lash liner (139 brush)
    • Shroom e/s blending in crease, and up to brows (217 brush)
    • Bio-Green e/s lining lower lashes (219 brush)
    • Brow Set in clear
    • Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash mascara

    Lips

    • Spring Bean Lustreglass

I didn’t do my face today, a bit on the lazy side and had to get dinner prepared for the crock pot, LOL.

I think all my lipglosses look the same in these pictures, such a shame. Today’s (Spring Bean) is especially cool:

Yes, that’s neon green! But goes on in a caramel sort of shade, very pretty. Not green at all! But then in the pictures my lips look red as always :( Sometimes the camera works out nicely, sometimes it doesn’t. That’s the case with point and shoots (Kodak M1033). Maybe I’ll have to use my D300 DSLR more often, at least for product shots.

The 217 brush that I got yesterday works out nicely! It does indeed do an awesome job at blending, I think my 272 is whimpering in the brush roll, worried it got replaced :(

As a final note, I think Humid is one of the MAC eyeshadows that everyone needs to own! It’s such a nice, solid dark green that goes with a lot of things, and blends well. I love it!
