Yay for UPS Man!

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

My MAC Pro goodies came today :D

To my horror the box was half opened and crushed in… wtf? Luckily everything was in there and nothing was broken (mostly due to what I ordered, no pressed powder products). Still made me sad to see the sorry shape the box was in :(

I immediately jumped to try to the skin corrector and concealer.

pureorange
MAC Studio Finish Skin Corrector in Pure Orange is helpful for concealing blue under eye areas (along with blue/black tattoos, or so I’ve read). This is a problem that plagues me, and my concealer just wasn’t cutting it so I decided to give this a whirl. I stuck the pan in a depotted 4-pan eyeshadow palette. The product is very creamy, and just the tiniest dab is all I needed. When I first applied of course it was neon orange, but it blended in easily with a MAC 194 concealer brush. The blue tinge was reduced considerably.

studiosculpt
I have always used the discontinued MAC Studio Touch-Up Stick Concealer, but as of late I have found it difficult to work with… dry and scratchy. (Which totally could be due to the age of the product, I’ve had it for over 3 years.) So I threw the MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer in NW20 in my order as well. I applied it over the Skin Corrector. This product is deliciously creamy and easy to apply and blend in. It combined with the skin corrector definitely brightened up and improved my under eye area!! Now only time will tell how long the product holds up, and if I’ll look like a mess in a few hours or not. :)

Only thing I don’t like about it is that it looks like the Painterly Paint Pot. I think I’ll have to write a big “C” on it so I know it’s my concealer :)

loosefoundation
At last, more foundation! Oh how I’ve missed it, especially since it’s my sunscreen since my skin gets rather finicky about moisturizers/skinscreens. As you can see, I don’t use the foam applicator it comes with. I yank that sucker out, and I shoved the temporary sponge up in the lid. I’ll see if this helps when I accidentally tip over the container. I love this foundation, but I really wish MAC offered a better container for it :(

I am very pleased I got 1.5 years of use out of my first foundation. Of course I wasn’t using it daily, but even with daily use, that’s still like a year or so! Definitely not bad :)

macprojune
And the rest of my goodies, which are backups for existing products that are soon to run out, or will in a few months. Since I don’t live anywhere near a MAC store (100 miles to the nearest), just counters which won’t accept my Pro Card, I decided I’d just order up some replacement stuff. I figure if I don’t open it it’ll stay fresh just fine :)

I should do a comparison picture of a brand new Clear Brow Set, and my existing tube! My existing tube is light brown from all the shadow the wand has picked up. Quite amusing, at least to me.

And those are my new goodies :) Time to update the collection list!

Free shipping from MACPro.com = Yay!

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Woohoo, I can finally replenish some things without having to worry about paying for shipping (or tax if I went to store, which requires 150 miles each way of driving, so count gas, too).

PRO1DAY is the code.  Only good through 11:59pm on today’s date.

I did a rather large order to stock up and replenish some things, as well as pick up a few items that were either out of stock at the Las Vegas store when I was there, or didn’t think of getting.

On it’s way…

  • Studio Sculpt Concealer in NW20
  • Studio Finish Skin Corrector in Pure Orange
  • Plush Lash Mascara
  • Prep+Prime Lash
  • Bulk Wipes
  • Brow Set in Clear
  • Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation/Loose in Medium

Nice little haul :)

I did visit the Las Vegas store in early June.  It’s a  pro store, but not as cool as the NYC Pro store.  But the employees are 10000% friendlier than the ones at the NYC store!  Definitely great service!

In Vegas I picked up:

  • Chromagraphic Pencil in Black Black
  • Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20
  • Prrr Lipglass
  • Plush Lash Mascara

Black Black has turned out to be a disappointment.  Great black on waterline, but smudges all over my face in about 20 minutes of wear.  Guess Urban Decay’s Zero is just meant to be my HG black waterline pencil…  NC15/NW20 pencil gives a lovely “perky” look when applied on the lower waterline.  Great for my early mornings at work!  Prrr is great, nice pop to my lips without a ton of color.  Definitely worth it to purchase.  And Plush Lash… well, not as great as MUFE’s Smoky Lash Mascara, which is what I use to wear, but $8.10 is definitely better than $22.00.  And when applied over MUFE Lash Fibers and really bulked up, it makes my lashes look great.  Gotta make some sacrifices sometimes, and buying a $22 mascara was getting really really old!

Now to just wait for my package :)   My foundation is nearly out, so I hope it arrives fairly quick!  And I can’t wait to give Pure Orange skin corrector a try on my blue undereye circles!

CCO Haul!

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

april25cco

Stopped by the CCO today…

A few weeks ago my Perfect Topping MSF fell off my bathroom counter and shattered :( So I figured instead of repressing it, I’d just pick up a new one at the CCO, and try to sell the shattered one. Lucky me, they had two left, and one of them had a lot of purple veining. Score!!!

So I got…

MAC Perfect Topping Mineralize Skinfish
MAC Spiritualize Pigment (LE: Metal Urge)
MAC Cool Capers Mini Pigment Set (Fuschia, Grape, Deep Blue Green, Reflects Transparent Teal, Holiday 2009)

You know the story behind my Perfect Topping MSF repurchase. Spiritualize was a random buy, I found it pretty and original jar pigments are so sought after now I feel the need to buy them up, haha. And I’ve wanted the Cool Capers set since last fall, but didn’t want to pay full price.

Just a tiny little haul, nothing else really caught my eye at the CCO (either had it or not interested). I’m really after cheek products and pigments lately instead of shadows, so that’s killing my hauls, haha.

Long time… no posting… and CCO haul!

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

Wow, the days sure fly by when you’re working full time. I decided not to do look pictures every day, even if it’s a new combination because it eats up time. So this site is getting a bit neglected…

My new favorite combination is MAC Patina all over my lid, and MAC Quarry in the crease. So pretty! I’m in love with Patina, I think it’s one of my favorite eyeshadows ever!

Last weekend I did a small CCO haul. Mostly impulse buys, but they’re working out I think :) My friend wanted me to pick up a Sea Me shadestick, and I ended up getting one for myself although I’m sure I”ll never use it…

march27ccohaul1

I got:

  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Warmed (from N Collection)
  • MAC Phloof! Eyeshadow
  • MAC Sea Me Shadestick
  • MAC Personal Taste Lipglass (from Makeup Art Cosmetics collection)
  • march27ccohaul2

Personal Taste was a bit pink for my liking when I first try it, but I think I can make it work. I love Warmed MSF, brings a nice glow to my face without looking like a strong bronzer or fake. Sea Me I might just sell or swap. And I haven’t used Phloof! yet, and not quite sure why I grabbed it, LOL

    FINALLY! Haulin’!

    march13haul

I haven’t bought any makeup since I picked up Hypnotizing eyeshadow in December… so oh boy did it feel good!

I had 6 empties to trade in for B2M, and a $25 gift card from Christmas, so that definitely helped out.

    I got from MAC…

    Eyeshadows
    Saddle
    Lucky Green
    Patina
    Shale
    Quarry
Birds & Berries (from the Give Me Liberty of London collection)
Bought Grey (from the Give Me Liberty of London collection)

    Paint Pot
Artifact (discontinued, but my store still had it!)

I also swung by Sephora and picked up a new tube of Make Up For Ever Lash Fibers. Finally! My existing tube was about a year old and getting really weird, so definitely time for new!

    Back with goodies!

    Sunday, December 20th, 2009

I had a great weekend, and even found some new goodies for myself! :D

First off, my Melon look! I do not have pictures of how I made it more “night,” but what I basically did was smoke it out with MAC Indian Ink eyeshadow in the outer V and crease, and darkened up the MAC Cranberry eyeshadow that was already there. Then I added MAC Goldmine eyeshadow under my lower lash line! Nothing too extreme, but it did change the look!

On my way to my friend’s I stopped by a CCO. They had a huge selection of stuff, but limited myself to Perfect Topping Mineralize Skinfinish. I sorted through what they had and chose one with lots of purple veining. I’m not sure why I am so into cheek products lately, but it’s fun! I used Perfect Topping to complete my night Melon look.

Then we stopped by a freestanding MAC store. To my surprise the Love Lace collection had released early (it was suppose to release December 26th), so I picked up Hypnotizing eyeshadow, which was the only thing I really had my eye on. Rounding that out, I picked up some Studio Moisture Cream moisturizer. I love my Studio Moisture Fix, but it’s been struggling against this dry climate. Hopefully the new stuff can help!

I don’t have pictures of Saturday’s look, but I did MAC Beautiful Iris eyeshadow over my lid, and then MAC Hypnotizing eyeshadow in the crease. I darkened it up with a touch of MAC Indian Ink eyeshadow in the outer V, and used MAC Shroom eyeshadow to highlight. Fairly simple.

Finally, when I came home I had a package waiting for me! I had swapped my Pearl Cream Colour Base for a Cakeshop Shadestick on makeupalley.com Cakeshop is a very unique color, I look forward to playing with it!

So that’s my weekend wrap up!

    Some new Mary Kay goodies!

    Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

After much thought last night, I picked out what to use my Mary Kay gift certificate on!

I’ve been wanting a matte-ish pink blush for awhile now, and have been going back and forth on some MAC suggestions, but then I ran across Cantaloupe from MAC and I HAVE TO HAVE IT. But it’s not pink! That’s when I realized I could pick up one of the Mary Kay mineral ones, and have my cake and eat it too!

I decided on Mary Kay Pink Petals mineral cheek color, and Beach Bronze lipgloss.

    mkpinkpetals

    mkbeachbronze

Oh, so about yesterday’s look! IT LASTED ALL DAY! No creasing! Maybe I was just using too much of the Eyesicles product when I tried before. I was quite surprised. Not that I’m going to be giving up my paint pots anytime soon… just an observation and correction on something I said in yesterday’s post!

So those are my new goodies! Now I have a pink blush that isn’t frosty like my Blonde MSF, and a new lip gloss!

The “I’m having a terrible week so screw it, I’m buying the rest of my list” Haul

    Monday, November 2nd, 2009

I think the title pretty much sums it up :D   Crappy week + crappy day + being close to the MAC store = just getting the rest of my list because it’ll be a highlight to crappy week.

This pretty much finish off the rest of my “wishlist” that I had going to build up my collection, minus the forever-out-of-stock mixing medium and brush belt, and a brush that apparently didn’t make it onto my order.

    nov2

    I got…

    • MAC Fresco Rose paint pot
    • MAC 15-pan Palette
    • MAC Heritage Rouge pigment
    • MAC Copperplate eyeshadow
    • MAC Star Violet eyeshadow
    • MAC Haux eyeshadow
    • MAC Soft Brown eyeshadow
    • MAC Trax eyeshadow
    • MAC Vex eyeshadow
    • MAC Retrospeck eyeshadow
    • MAC Tempting eyeshadow
    • MAC Embark eyeshadow
    • MAC Bronze eyeshadow

Along with all of that I traded pigments with my friend.

    • MAC Frozen White pigment
    • MAC Brash and Bold pigment
    • MAC Mutiny pigment
    • MAC Golden Lemon pigment
    • MAC Push the Edge pigment

    piggies

I’m done with massive hauling for awhile now. I’m starting to feel MAC-ed out and just want to settle down and start using all these products!

    Small CCO Haul

    Saturday, October 31st, 2009

I visited my local CCO tonight with some friends. I didn’t get much, as anything that is in the permanent line I can get for a better discount with my pro card, so I was only after some discontinued items.

    I got….

    • MAC Warm Chill eyeshadow from the Cool Heat collection
    • MAC Magnetic Fields eyeshadow from the Neo Sci Fi collection
    • MAC 272 brush

    ccoall

    warmchill

    magnetic-fields

    272

I love my 272 brush, but they discontinued it :( Happy to have a “backup” now! And I’ve been eying Warm Chill for awhile now, even though the color payoff is a bit funky. All I know about Magnetic Fields is a lot of people on the forums are ga-ga for it, and I liked the dark brown coloring so I figured “Why not?”

    Haulin’ Like A Pro

    Saturday, October 24th, 2009

I proclaim today a success! I ran into NYC to go to the MAC Pro store as I had several pro items on my list to buy. I wasn’t left disappointed! Well… mostly. The brush belt and water based mixing medium were out of stock, along with Old Gold pigment. Luckily, my local store had some, so after getting back from NYC I ran over there to pick up Old Gold and a few other pigments.

    YES!!!!

My MAC Pro card came today!!!

    *happy dance*

Came one day short of 4 weeks since I mailed it. Considering mail to Canada takes about a week, it’s not a bad turnaround time.

    macpro

Unfortunately my log in for the site isn’t working yet (had to email support for that), but I tried out the card and it’s indeed working! :D I did just a tiny haul as I am saving the good stuff for MAC Pro in NYC.

    I picked up…

    • Mineralize Eyeshadow – It’s A Miracle
    • Mineralize Eyeshadow – Devil-May-Care
    • Eyeshadow – Beautiful Iris
    • Eyeshadow – Swish
    • 222 Tapered Blending Brush
    • 4 pack of stackable jars

    all

    miracle

    devil

    swishiris

    222

It’s so exciting to get a discount on items, and nicer on the wallet :D Now I just need to make it over to MAC Pro and get the rest that is on my list!

    ooo, I like!

    Thursday, June 4th, 2009

Finally I get around to using one of the Cream Colour Bases (CCB for short) I bought at a CCO in March! And I like it! Definitely nice to put shadow over, and it’s been a few hours and still no creasing, so that’s a good sign!

    Eyes

    • MAC Painterly paint pot as base (Sephora flat e/s brush)
    • MAC Cream Colour Base in Plumed Violet all over lid (242 brush)
    • MAC Up At Dawn e/s all over lid and Plumed Violet, over crease and up (239 brush)
    • MAC Shroom e/s as highlight (217 brush)
    • Urban Decay Zero 24/7 Eyeliner pencil along upper lashes
    • Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash mascara

I think it looks a lot better in natural light than the camera made it look… oh well! Definitely like it, and it even looks pretty on it’s own!

Also stopped by my local CCO and picked up Sunset B, Gulf Stream, and Reflects Duo Purple pigment.

    May 13, 2009

    Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

    Face

    • MAC MSF in Redhead (168 brush)

    Eyes

    • MAC Painterly paint pot as base (Sephora flat e/s brush)
    • MAC Bio-Green e/s in innner half of lid (239 brush)
    • MAC Plumage e/s in outer half of lide (239 brush)
    • MAC Ricepaper e/s higherlight (217 brush)
    • Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash mascara

    Lips

    • chapstick

Green look for the last day of school! I really like Plumage… hell, I love all of my greens.

I also went to the CCO yesterday (this look is from yesterday as well) and picked up Hello Kitty Tahitian Sand beauty powder, Chill e/s, and Glamour Check! e/s. Didn’t get very much… I couldn’t resist the compact of the beauty powder, though. I can’t wait for more HK stuff to hit the CCO.

    Small vacation update!

    Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

I can’t post looks, but I can talk about my CCO haul!

    I got:

    • Wipes (a spare pack, since it’s cheaper than full retail)
    • Studio Moisture Fix SPF 15 moisturizer (yes, I got my first moisturizer!!!!)
    • Eye Kohl in Minted
    • Cream Colour Base in Plumed Violet
    • Cream Colour Base in Premeditated

Not that much… none of the eyeshadows there interested me. There was some concealer I wanted, but they didn’t have any in NW20.

I am liking having a moisturizer, though! Can’t wait to get home and play around with the Cream Colour Bases, too!

    Hello Kitty Take Two!

    Friday, February 13th, 2009

I couldn’t stay away from the MAC Store!! I decided that I really wanted the Milk pigment, as I don’t have any shadows near that color, and decided I needed a few others things. Best thing of all is that I got another free tote bag! :) Now I can actually use one, and have one to keep nice. I wish I could get like 10 of them honestly.

    Take Two Haul:

    • Milk pigment (my first pigment actually!!)
    • Nice Kitty lipglass
    • Brow Finisher in Blonde]
    • Wipes (the 100 pack)

    Milk pigment

    Nice Kitty lipglass

I wonder if this is going to start a pigment addiction… tee hee hee ;)

    Hello Miss Kitty!

    Thursday, February 12th, 2009

    Yay, Hello Kitty MAC collection!

I ended up getting more than I expected… I figured I would. Once I saw stuff in person I wanted more and more! I probably would’ve gotten all 6 lipglasses if I was in the store any longer!!

I had my full face done, quite nice as it’s the first time I have had that done at MAC. I am not sure of all the products, but I will try my best to remember them..

    Face

    • A moisturizer… I didn’t get to see which one it was, though
    • Studio Sculpt foundation in NW25 *I think* once again, I couldn’t really see, but she used two shades
    • Mineralize Skinfinish Natural
    • Studio Sculpt concealer
    • Beauty Powder Blush in Tippy

    Eyes

    • Painterly paint pot (my ol’ pal!)
    • Milk pigment
    • Too Dolly palette
    • A plum shade of eyeliner pencil
    • Brow Finisher (I really wish I remember to buy this, I like it)

    Lips

    • Pink Fish lip conditioner

Whew, I think that’s all! It’s hard to remember when I am actually not applying it myself. I definitely believe this is the most make up I have ever had on my face, though! :)

    Now… for my HAUL!!!

    • Too Dolly e/s palette
    • Lucky Tom e/s palette
    • Pink Fish Lip Conditioner
    • Nice to be Nice lipglass
    • Sweet Strawberry lipglass
    • She Loves Candy lipglass
    • Fast Friends lipglass

And I got a free tote bag as well!

Oh, and Gesso for B2M :)

I honestly like the packaging, even the inside of the boxes has the HK print.

    Pink Fish lip conditioner

Outside of the eyeshadow palette. I definitely won’t be depotting these

Lucky Tom eyeshadow palette (Creme Royal, Paradisco, Stylin’, Lucky Tom)

Too Dolly eyeshadow palette (Yogurt, Romping, Too Dolly, Stately Black)

Lipglasses: Sweet Strawberry, Nice to be Nice, Fast Friends, She Loves Candy.

And because I don’t want it to feel left out…

    Gesso!

I think this will my last big MAC haul for a long time, heh. :)

Friends & Family ‘09 Haul! Thanks UPS Man!

    Monday, January 12th, 2009

My UPS man brought my eagerly awaited package of goodies I picked up during MAC’s 25% off “Friends & Family” sale (discount code MACFF09 – no, it doesn’t work still). Took about a week, slower than other times I have ordered from MAC, but oh how my heart soared when I saw the carefully packaged little box today!

    I ordered:

    • Lip Conditioner (in tube)
    • 217 Blending Brush
    • Top Hat eyeshadow
    • Typographic eyeshadow

I am very excited to use Typographic, as it’s an “asphalt black,” so not as scary as real black. Top Hat is also very pretty, I think it would look good with Mink & Sable, since they’re both Starflash.

I would try out the Lip Conditioner, but I have lipglass on since I just did today’s look (I’ll post later with that subject), but I am a lip balm junkie, so I’m sure I won’t be disappointed.

This sale was quite nice, the only annoying part is that so much stuff went in and out of stock over the 3 days the sale was going on, that unless you got lucky, or did multiple orders, it was hard to get all you wanted. I would have gotten more shadows, if the ones I wanted were in stock. I didn’t want to do multiple orders, so I settled for what I was able to get.
