I visited my local CCO tonight with some friends. I didn’t get much, as anything that is in the permanent line I can get for a better discount with my pro card, so I was only after some discontinued items.
I got….
- MAC Warm Chill eyeshadow from the Cool Heat collection
- MAC Magnetic Fields eyeshadow from the Neo Sci Fi collection
- MAC 272 brush

I love my 272 brush, but they discontinued it
Happy to have a “backup” now! And I’ve been eying Warm Chill for awhile now, even though the color payoff is a bit funky. All I know about Magnetic Fields is a lot of people on the forums are ga-ga for it, and I liked the dark brown coloring so I figured “Why not?”

My empty pans that I have coming so I can press my pigments have been out for delivery for 2 days now… it’s really starting to annoy me! I thought they were coming yesterday… no. So, ok, today! NO… Luckily I have stuff going on tonight so I wouldn’t have time to press anyway. But I swear if they don’t come tomorrow, I’m placing an angry phone call!
Face
- MAC Mineralize loose foundation in Medium
- MAC Studio Touch Up Stick concealer in NW20
Foundation applied with 209. Concealer applied under eyes and smoothed out with 194 brush.

Vanilla used to blend out crease and as highlight, 272 brush. Blacktrack applied along upper lashes with 210 brush. Zero applied on lower waterline. Old Gold under lower lashline with 219 brush.
Lips

I am tempted to add some of my Reflects Copper glitter a little bit over the lid as I’m going out to dinner with friends, and it’s practically Halloween. I’ll see if I get around to it. I’m still being bitter about my missing empty pans

The swatch of the day is…
My 3 white MAC eyeshadows! These are the ones I consider “true” whites that don’t have any overtly gold/pink/whatever tones to them. Those I include in my highlights palette, and not my white palette.
MAC Crystal Avalanche Eyeshadow
Description: White with reflects (Veluxe Pearl)

MAC Chill Eyeshadow
Description: Luminous satin, cool white (Discontinued)

MAC Gesso Eyeshadow
Description: Vivid white (Matte)

Swatching procedure: My skin tone is roughly a MAC NW20. Swatches are done over MAC Painterly paint pot to provide a base, therefore results may appear different on bare skin.
Photos are taken in my bathroom which has “Natural Light” bulbs to mimic natural daylight. No flash is used.

I think this is a pretty “neutral” look that could be toned down if needed. It’s amazing how versatile these shades can be, and I wonder how I lived without them!
Face
- MAC Mineralize loose foundation in Medium
- MAC Studio Touch Up Stick concealer in NW20
- MAC Redhead Mineralize Skinfinish
Foundation applied with 209, MSF with 187. Concealer applied under eyes and smoothed out with 194 brush.
Eyes
- MAC Painterly paint pot
- MAC Woodwinked e/s
- MAC Expensive Pink e/s
- MAC Twinks e/s
- MAC Vanilla e/s
- MAC Rite of Spring e/s
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
- MAC Brow Finisher in Clear
- Make Up For Ever Lash Fibers
- Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash Mascara
Painterly applied as base. Woodwinked applied on inner half of lid with 239 brush. Expensive Pink applied on outer half of lid with 239 brush. Twinks applied in outer V and crease with 217 brush. Vanilla used to blend out crease, 272 brush, and Rite of Spring used as a highlight. Woodwinked applied under lower lash line with 219 brush. Zero used on lower waterline.

I don’t know why I keep on using MAC Black Russian on my waterline when Urban Decay Zero goes above and beyond what any other liner can?! Zero actually lasts longer than 2 minutes on my waterline, and keeps it’s vibrancy. So I really need to stop reaching for Black Russian and other shades of black for my waterline, and use Zero. *Pounds it into memory*

I’m not too sure about today’s look. Reminds me too much of what I did on Saturday for one. And overall it kind of makes me go ehhhh. But this was on my list of combinations to try, so at least I got it out of the way!
Face
- MAC Mineralize loose foundation in Medium
- MAC Studio Touch Up Stick concealer in NW20
- MAC Powder Blush in Prism
Foundation applied with 209, blush with 268. Concealer applied under eyes and smoothed out with 194 brush.
Eyes
- MAC Painterly paint pot
- MAC Smoke & Diamonds e/s
- MAC Climate Blue e/s
- MAC Lucky Tom e/s
- MAC Vanilla e/s
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Binge
- MAC Brow Finisher in Blonde
- Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash Mascara
Painterly applied as base. Smoke & Diamonds all over lid with 239 brush. Climate Blue blended into crease and outer V with 217 brush. Lucky Tom used to darken outer V and crease with 222 brush. Vanilla as highlight and to blend out crease, 272 brush. Lined upper lashes and lower waterline with Binge, and using a 219 brush, lined lower lashes with Climate Blue.

Just ehhhh…
And I never thought Smoke & Diamonds was so brownish until today. I guess I haven’t used it that much, but I was surprised. So yeah… too much like Saturday and not something that really makes me excited.
Edit – I know what could fix it! I think if I left out the blue, and did just Lucky Tom and Smoke & Diamonds that could look nice! I’m going to write it down for future use!

The weather is such a bummer today
It’s felt so dark all day, and rain rain rain rain! Yesterday was sunny, so to wake up to this today is crappy.
So in honor of the gray weather I present a gray look!
Face

Painterly applied as base with flat e/s brush. Fade applied all over lid with 239 brush. Scene applied to crease and outer corner with 217 brush. Nehru used to darken outer corner with a 217 brush. Crystal Avalanche applied as a highlight with 275 brush. Grey Utility lining top lashes and lower waterline.
Lips
- MAC She Loves Candy Lipglass

And a rare full face shot!

On Sunday night I ordered a few things from the Container Store to organize my collection with. Much to my disappointment I haven’t seen a change on my order status, and oddly enough, haven’t received a confirmation email of me ever even placing the order. If I don’t see a change tomorrow on the status, I think I’ll give them a ring and see what’s up. I’m overly eager to get these things! I ordered a clear acrylic DVD rack (thank you MAC for making the palettes DVD sized!) for, duh, my palettes. Along with that, I ordered an acrylic rack/tray that I am going to use to store all my pencils and mascaras “Sephora style” with beads at the bottom. The Dixie cup I am currently using just isn’t cutting it! Container Store has lots of awesome storage solutions, and they’re reasonably priced! So hopefully my order ships soon. The whole not getting the order confirmation email, even 2 days later, is worrying me. Woe is me.

That is, for the first use of my Blackground paint pot! I’ve had it for a month or two, and haven’t used it yet. Maybe because it kind of scares me? I am not sure… Today I am being lazy, and figured I’d try out Club e/s over Blackground, which is a highly recommended thing to do in order to get Club’s green scheen to show up. And that it did!
No face or lips today since I’m just bumming around…
Eyes
- MAC Blackground paint pot
- MAC Painterly paint pot
- MAC Club e/s
- MAC Ricepaper e/s
- MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Corrupt
- MAC Brow Finisher in Clear
- Make Up For Ever Lash Fibers
- Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash Mascara
Blackground paint pot applied on lid as base with 242 brush. Painterly applied on crease and under brow as a base with a flat e/s brush. Club applied over lid with 239 brush. Ricepaper applied in crease and as highlight with 275 brush. Upper lashes lined with Blacktrack using a 210 brush. Lower lashes lined with Club using a pencil brush. Waterline lined with Corrupt.

I usually don’t do super dark makeup, so it is kind of weird to see, but neat. I’m glad the camera picked up on Club’s duochrome at least.
Also my first time using my new 210 brush for liner, and I love it! Nice and precise, allowing me to get a very thin and neat line.

Swatch of the Day is.. (and a tiny review)
Urban Decay 24/7 Super Stash set
Description: This is a set of 9 Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils. 4 of the colors are exclusive to this set.
- Zero (zealous black)
- Oil Slick (black sparkle)
- Corrupt (brown sparkle)
- Eldorado (gold)
- Graffiti (bright medium green with silver sparkle)
- Binge (navy)
- Ransom (bright iridescent purple)
- Rockstar (darkest eggplant)
- Stash (dark green/gold)

Swatching procedure: My skin tone is roughly a MAC NW20. Swatches were done on bare skin (no base).
Photos are taken in my bathroom which has “Natural Light” bulbs to mimic natural daylight. No flash is used.

I just picked this set up at Sephora today, so I thought I’d say a few quick words about it as well. First off, I LOVE the 24/7 pencils! The formula is so soft and creamy – no tugging on the lids here! For about 30 seconds the product remains blendable, and then dries down to a waterproof formula. And holy crap, they’re waterproof! I swatched several shades on my arm at Sephora, and their makeup remover would not remove them and I had to use alcohol (side note: MAC Wipes DO remove these liners easily, I’ve never had difficulty removing them at home). As much as I love my MAC products and prefer to buy MAC, I definitely give Urban Decay the upper hand on eye pencil formulation and color choice!
I originally went for this set for Graffiti and Eldorado. I have Zero and Stash already, which I got in another 24/7 set last year (seems that Zero is included in nearly all the sets). However, I am loving Oil Slick, Corrupt, and Binge as well! Oh, and Rockstar… hell, they’re all great!
My only gripe so far is the size. I thought my 0.8g sized 24/7 pencils were small… these in this set are 0.5g and TINY. I can see how they can be difficult to hold and use, but I think I’ll be able to adjust. Even though they’re tiny, I think they’ll all last me a decent while, or so I hope! I heard that Eldorado will be released to the full size collection in the spring, which is good to hear because I am really loving it’s rich gold color. I hope the other 3 (Oil Slick, Corrupt, and Binge) also join the full size collection.
The set was $36, which comes down to $4 per pencil. Not terrible! Definitely a good way to sample shades, or to save money. Full size 24/7 pencils are $17 a piece and very large, so if someone isn’t a heavy liner user, I see this as a great way to get some great liners for occasional use, and not have to spend a lot of money on full size products.

Sometimes it pays to check out the ‘net before heading out for a massive shopping trip! On my list for tomorrow is Grape and Deep Blue Green pigments. Well, lucky me, I stumbled across what’s going to be in MAC’s Mischief Makers holiday collection which releases on November 5th! And??? Well, one of the pigment sets includes those two pigments!
Why is this so great? Because I will never in my lifetime use up a full size pigment, which is 7.5 grams. In these special sets, the pigment comes in 2.5 gram vials AND you get 5 of them for $32.50 vs $19.50 for one full size pigment.
*Happy Dance*
Cool Capers
Kitschmas
Fuchsia
Grape
Deep Blue Green
Reflects Transparent Teal
That is the set I am after! Downside is that I cannot use my pro card on special sets, but the fact that I am getting 5 pigments for about the cost of 2 full size pigments works out, wouldn’t you say?
Anyways… the rest of the sets in Mischief Maker:

Sexy Shenanigans
Elle (lipglass)
Poetic License (lipglass)
Cruise Control (lipglass)
Ensign (lustreglass)
Morning Glory (lustreglass)
Frisky Business
Silly Girl (lipglass)
Totally It (lipglass)
Beaute (lipglass)
Pinkarat (lustreglass)
Wonderstruck (lustreglass)
Models Misbehaving
Pinkular (lipglass)
Magnetique (lipglass)
Gitane (lipglass)
Angel Wing (lustreglass)
Instant Gold (lustreglass)
Haute High Jinks (Pigments)
Jardin Aires
Rushmetal
Copperized
Museum Bronze
Reflects Gold
Sexpot (Pigments)
Naked
Sunnydaze
Chocolate Brown
Dark Soul
Reflects Antique Gold
I don’t think I’ll partake in any of the other sets, but I’m excited to get Cool Capers and those great pigments!
(Oh noes, do I feel myself becoming a pigment whore? I have a feeling it’ll only get worse once I start pressing them which means I’ll actually start using them a lot more…)

Decided to try out the shadows that I got last night. I should’ve been really smart and applied them wet because they would’ve looked a lot more vibrant, but I’m feeling a bit lazy! So another purple look for this week…
Face
- MAC Mineralize loose foundation in Medium
Foundation applied with 209. (See, lazy day!)
Eyes
- MAC Painterly paint pot
- MAC Devil-May-Care Mineralize Eyeshadow
- MAC It’s A Miracle Mineralize Eyeshadow
- MAC Shroom e/s
- MAC Softsparkled Eye Pencil in Iris Accents
- MAC Pearlglide liner in Rave
- MAC Brow Finisher in Blonde
- Make Up For Ever Lash Fibers
- Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash Mascara
Painterly applied as base with flat e/s brush. Devil-May-Care applied over lid with 239. It’s A Miracle applied in crease and outer V with 222 brush. Shroom used as a highlight, 272 brush. Upper lashes lined with Iris Accents. Lower lash line lined with It’s A Miracle, using a 219 brush, and Rave on the waterline.

Simple… lazy… bleh. Haha. I just know the MES will look so much better if applied wet, but that’s too much effort. I wish the weather wasn’t so terrible, it’s making me lazy
Tomorrow I am heading into NYC to go to the pro store!! Woo woo! I’m a bit concerned, however… I want the brush toolbelt but I can’t find it listed on their site?! I hope I can still buy one, my brush cup is horribly failing at holding my brushes and I also plan on buying about 6 more brushes tomorrow so I need the room and organization!
I also kind of want to run by the Make Up For Ever boutique and pick up a small eyeshadow palette. Not that I need to depot a whole two shadows, but I love palettes! Plus they sell nifty metal spatulas, and I’ve convinced myself that I need one for when I start pressing pigments. I don’t think I’ll run by there, though, but I want to. I think MAC is going to hurt the wallet enough

YES!!!!
My MAC Pro card came today!!!
*happy dance*
Came one day short of 4 weeks since I mailed it. Considering mail to Canada takes about a week, it’s not a bad turnaround time.

Unfortunately my log in for the site isn’t working yet (had to email support for that), but I tried out the card and it’s indeed working!
I did just a tiny haul as I am saving the good stuff for MAC Pro in NYC.
I picked up…
- Mineralize Eyeshadow – It’s A Miracle
- Mineralize Eyeshadow – Devil-May-Care
- Eyeshadow – Beautiful Iris
- Eyeshadow – Swish
- 222 Tapered Blending Brush
- 4 pack of stackable jars

It’s so exciting to get a discount on items, and nicer on the wallet
Now I just need to make it over to MAC Pro and get the rest that is on my list!

I have an advising appointment today, so I decided to try something fairly neutral…

Ooo, I love it! Once again, another look off my super awesome list of combinations to try… which I will try to get posted as a page after I’m done adding all the stuff into My Collection page. Moving to a wordpress format has been so nice, I’m loving it! Definitely a lot more flexibility in layout and content.
Some thoughts…
1) 217 oh how I love you! I can’t believe I ever said I didn’t see the point in you on specktra.net!
2) It’s Parfait AMOUR not ARmour *smacks forehead* I just recently stumbled upon that discovery… can I claim it’s because French words aren’t my thing!? At least it’s not as bad as me calling Slip Pink “Pink Slip” for the past two years…
3) I wonder what my classmates think when I walk into class with makeup like this… Considering only a small fraction even seem to have mascara on, I wonder if I’m a sight to see with dramatic smokey looks for school…
Face
- MAC Mineralize loose foundation in Medium

Painterly applied as base with flat e/s brush. Parfait Amour packed all over lid with 239 brush. Stars N’ Rockets swept into crease with 239 brush. Using a 217 brush, Beauty Marked was buffed into outer V and outer half of crease. Using a 272 brush, Crystal Avalanche was used as a highlight and in inner corners. Rave liner applied to waterline, and using a 219 brush, Parfait Amour applied under lower lashes.

- MAC She Loves Candy lipglass

*squeeeee* I love it. I don’t know why, I guess I didn’t expect it to turn out like this. Thank goodness for a 217 brush!
However, I can’t decide if the look needs some eyeliner on my upper lashes… I avoid lining looks as sometimes it ruins everything, but sometimes it’s needed. I just don’t know…

Once again, another look off of my list of combinations to try! I haven’t played with the colors from the Photo Realism palette in awhile, either.

Foundation applied with 109 brush, then Prism to cheeks with 168 brush.
Eyes

- MAC Greenstroke paint pot
- MAC Grey Range e/s
- MAC Fresh Approach e/s
- MAC Photo Realism e/s
- MAC Image Maker e/s
- Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Stash
- MAC Brow Finish in Blonde
- Make Up For Ever Lash Fibers
- Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash mascara
Painterly applied as base with flat eyeshadow brush. Greenstroke paint pot applied over lid with flat eyeshadow brush. Grey Range then applied all over lid with 239, followed with Fresh Approach applied to the crease and a bit above with a 239 brush. Finally the sun was out for the first time in who knows how many days, so I went for something bright. This is off of my “list of must do looks” that I have compiled. I think I really really like it! Yay!
Face
- MAC Mineralize loose foundation in Medium
- MAC Beauty Powder in Tahitian Sand
- MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Redhead
Foundation applied with 109 brush, then Tahitian Sand to the cheeks with a 168, topped off with the pinker side of the Redhead MSF with a 168.
Eyes
- MAC Painterly paint pot
- MAC Rated “R” e/s
- MAC Firespot e/s
- MAC Passionate e/s
- MAC Paradisco e/s
- MAC Shroom e/s
- MAC Pearlglide Liner in Black Russian
- MAC Clear Brow Finish
- Make Up For Ever Lash Fibers
- Make Up For Ever Smokey Lash mascara
Painterly paint pot applied as base with a flat e/s brush. Rated “R” applied to inner corners with a 219 brush. Firespot packed on over lid with 239 brush. Passionate buffed into outer V and crease with 217 brush, blended with Firespot. Paradisco used to blend out Passionate above crease, with a 272 brush. Shroom applied as a highlight with a small shader brush. Using the 219 brush, I used Rated “R” to liner under lower lashes on the inner half, and then Firespot on the outer half. Black Russian liner then applied to waterline.

Some thoughts…. Passionate is terrible to work with. I dunno, I just don’t like the texture of it in the pan. Seems like it’s hard to pick up on a brush. But… when blended into something like today’s look, it’s really pretty.
I got a new MUFE mascara. Mine was about 7 months old and drying out so I sprung for a new one. At $22 a pop I try to avoid buying it too often, LOL!
